About the Author
Jacqui Rose is a debut novelist who now lives in London, although she hails from South Yorkshire. She has always written for pleasure but the idea of Taken came from her own experiences.

When Casey Edwards was fifteen years old she was forced to give up her baby at birth. Haunted by what happened Casey has been leading a life of self destruct, but now many years later she decides it is time to pull herself together and find her son. Casey's search leads her to London where she meets Vaughn Sadler, a man she is attracted to, however he is involved with unsavoury characters and suddenly she finds herself embroiled in modern gangland. A fast action packed storyline and a very good read (although there were parts containing stomach churning violence ) which I could not put down until finished. Highly recommend.

well so far so good , halfway through and it's hard to put down. i just wish ' people ' would stop lumping new writers under the M Cole umbrella. she has had her day ,and should now give up the crown . her last few books have been dire to say the least !! if Ms Rose continues in this vane then she's on to a winner . predictable , maybe , but still a cracking good read to quote the jacket !! my only critisism is the fact that on the back cover the name was Vince and yet in the book his name has suddenly become Vaughn ?? apart from that slight niggle , a damn good début !!

For a debut novel, Jacqui Rose came up with a winner with well developed characters, a good setting and great writing. The plot is well constructed with enough suspense, revelations and leads that makes it breath-taking. Giving up a child and then coming back for it is a fascinating theme, which I also intriguingly dealt with in The Grandmothers by Janvier Chando. It is a theme I enjoy because it brings to mind redemption which is what I think life is centred on.
