The Heavenly Footman. by John Bunyan, author of The Pilgrim’s Progress wrote the Heavenly Footman towards the end of his life. Its main point is easily stated: “They that will have heaven, they must run for it.” He pleads with men to race for eternal life so that they achieve it, even though the way is difficult. John Bunyun fought for the Parliamentary Army during the English civil war he became a preacher in a non conformist group. After the restoration of the monarch he was arrested and spent the next 12 years in jail and began working on the Pilgrims progress. The Pilgrims Progress has now run into over 1300 editions.
