Reviews from Amazon:

One of the best books ever! Our book group ALL loved the novel! The story is great and the characters are all so well drawn. We keep discussing which is our favourite of the war brides and going back to re-read our favourite parts. Helen Bryan writes beautifully.
----------
This books has all the ingredients for a good holiday read - intrigue, romance, mystery. As well as giving an insight into different types of women at different levels of society during the war, this book has characters I really cared about. Skilfully written - I'm delighted to have found a new favourite author!
----------
I am still reading this book and parts of it are familiar so not sure if I've read it before as a book and not Kindle version. I agree that the editing/proof reading is appalling! There are spelling mistakes and sentence repetition in places. If you can get past that the story is not too bad but I am finding the editing irritating to say the least.
Perhaps whoever made this available to Kindle could ensure they get the proof reading right in future as it does spoil the flow.
----------
I really liked this book. It took me a while to get to grips with who the characters were as there are quite a lot of them but once I had those sorted out in my mind I found it a very enjoyable read. I'm quite keen on historical fiction and the fact that there was some of WW2 woven into this book made it feel quite realistic. I was a bit disappointed with the ending which left a few questions unanswered, but despite that would recommend this book.
